Patrick Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes is an American professional football player who has enjoyed a remarkable career since being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017. After winning the NFL MVP award in 2018 and leading the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory in 2020, his achievements have firmly established him as one of the NFL’s all-time great quarterbacks.
Mahomes began his college football career at Texas Tech University where he set numerous records, including most passing yards (11,252) and touchdowns (93). He left Texas Tech following his junior year after declaring for the NFL Draft and was selected 10th overall by the Chiefs. As a rookie, he led Kansas City to the AFC West title and eventually earned Pro Bowl honors.
In 2019, Mahomes continued to increase his outstanding numbers and directed the Chiefs to their first AFC Championship in 50 years. His brilliance was further highlighted by being awarded MVP honors at Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers. In 2020, despite suffering an early-season knee injury that forced him to miss two games, Mahomes managed to lead the Chiefs back to another AFC title before taking home his second consecutive Super Bowl ring with yet another MVP performance against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Today Patrick Mahomes stands as one of the greatest quarterbacks in recent memory – perhaps even league history – due not only to incredible statistical feats including 113 touchdown passes over three seasons but also for further accomplishments such as three Pro Bowl selections, two NFL MVP awards, and two appearances in Super Bowls where he was named MVP both times. With incredible qualities like pinpoint accuracy from any part of the field or field awareness that allows him to recognize holes in coverage quickly, it’s no wonder why many consider Patrick Mahomes one of the best players ever.
